Business Development Manager - O&G-Gulf Coast

We are actively interviewing candidates for a Business Development Manager-O&G-Gulf Coast.


General Purpose of the Position:

Responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans and initiatives to maximize growth and value creation within the U.S. Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and similar downstream markets.  Works as a member of the Business Development Team, and collaborates with engineering, project management, and operations personnel on various projects.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, develop, and secure profitable business in the aforementioned markets within a predefined territory.

  • Develop a clear, measurable sales and marketing plan for targeted accounts.  Align prospect list with identified target turnaround cycles.

  • Participate as a member of the broader sales and marketing team in sales and marketing initiatives, such as conferences/tradeshows, developing sales partner networks, proposal, and marketing collateral development, online/electronic marketing projects, and other strategic projects to support the growth in other regions or territories for which there may not be direct commissions or other specific activity-based incentives.

  • Build relationships with end-users, customers and other referral sources in order to grow the business.

  • Complete sales reports based on call, trip, etc. activities within current CRM software, providing visibility into both historical activity next contemplated selling steps, and sales pipeline.

  • Work with the technical support teams to provide technical and applications advice to customers throughout the sales process.

  • Provide a primary interface between customers and technical support and commercial operations teams to provide customer proposals and scope changes.

  • Collaborate with teams to develop pricing, closing strategy, and go to market tactics for the most competitive solution both technically and commercially.

  • Present and negotiate proposals to customer to secure work.

  • Ensure effective handoff of project responsibility from Sales to Operations.

  • Support and advance the reputation, market awareness, and brand.

  • Work collaboratively with product specialists, engineering, and R&D teams to identify new market trends and advantages of innovation, based upon identified market needs.

  • Extensive travel to build relationships with end users, customers, and other referral sources in order to grow business within areas of focus.

  • Promote among the workforce and ongoing awareness of opportunities for the scope of work growth during execution phases.

  • Work with other inside and outside business development personnel to assist in training, leadership, coaching, and selling activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

OEM facilities personnel as it relates to Turnaround work.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily from home office

  • Travel as needed (50%) to build relationships with end-users, customers, and other referral sources in order to grow business

  • Variable schedule including extended hours as needed

Education and Experience Required:

  • 10+ years related sales experience in gulf coast Energy sector managing customer relationships and selling activities required.

  • Strong experience and familiarity with the maintenance of vessels and other equipment utilized in market.

  • Experience and knowledge of cladding, welding, polymeric, other coatings, and/or corrosion abatement techniques is required.

  • Knowledge of customer base is a requirement.

  • Experience in challenging, longer lead-time, solution sales of services or engineered products preferred.
