We are actively interviewing candidates for Business Intelligence Analyst.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will be primarily responsible for managing the company’s Marketing Database and Customer Data Platform. He/She will play a vital role in continuing to work towards automating and connecting systems that are involved with conversions and lead generation. The Business Intelligence Analyst will be instrumental in providing accurate and relevant data to support strategic decisions foundation-wide and internal business objectives.

This position is a mid-level role with no direct reports and is highly analytical. This position reports to the VP, Marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build & maintain a deep understanding of key growth drivers. Explore new and creative ways to drive results through marketing activities.

  • Engage with internal (Marketing, Sales, Product, Technology) and external (i.e. Media Agency) partners on a regular basis to identify opportunities to implement data science solutions.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data in order to provide answers for business questions and recommendations for action.

  • Deliver ongoing and ad hoc corporate reporting; collect, organize and interpret data needs of executives and organizational groups.

  • Uses business intelligence tools to monitor current customers and develop new ones.

  • Monitors existing and emerging trends within our client base and oil & gas industry and makes recommendations to achieve profitable subscription and advertiser relationship development, growth, and retention.

  • Develops and recommends print and digital segmentation methodologies using profit, purchase behavior, and demographic information.

  • Maintains regular reporting and processes relating to initiatives for print and digital subscriber acquisition, retention, and cross-sell opportunities.

  • Provide strong analytic support via hands-on Excel and SQL work while leveraging other tools as necessary (HubSpot, Google Analytics, Marketing Automation/Marketo, Treasure Data, etc.)

  • Responsible for audience database quality, hygiene, and new contact generation.

  • Lead design and development of various dashboards & self-service visualization tools to enable data-driven decision throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with minimum of three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong understanding of relational data set, using SQL and Excel

  • Experience managing subscription user data

  • Local to the Houston, TX area – no relocation assistance provided

  • Experience working with subscription fulfillment systems – Omeda, Zuora, CDS, etc.

  • Tableau/Looker/Power BI or similar business intelligence tool experience

Preferred, but not Required

  • Python and/or R programming experience for data science preferred

  • Experience in creating Executive-level dashboards using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Chart.IO, Datawrapper, etc.
