We are actively interviewing candidates for the position of Sales Account Director.
Client Summary:
Grounded in more than 15 years of advanced academic research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, our client provides physics-based simulation engineering software, or digital twins, of highly complex mechanical assets. The technology enables customers to reduce risk, increase operational efficiency, and extend the life of their energy infrastructure in operation. Our client is disrupting the industry standard with its solution being 1,000x faster than legacy technology, facilitating real-time condition monitoring and delivering significant customer value. Our clients’ digital twin technology is currently in use by customers across the energy industry, including upstream and downstream, and renewable energy. Clients, including Shell, Lamprell, and Pan American Energy trust it. Our client is at a critical moment in its growth trajectory. As such, we are looking for a smart, ambitious Sales Account Director, fully focused on the Oil & Gas (downstream) and renewable energy industries markets. The candidate must be a customer-oriented sales executive who can assist in maintaining and growing the company's customer
base across the Americas. She/he will be responsible for adopting a hands-on customer relationship development approach focusing on generating additional business from current customers and finding and growing new accounts. We need a proven hunter character, a professional with a never-say-die attitude who has the potential to see what the future looks like and then convince partners to invest in building this future together.
Role Responsibilities:

Performs sales activities for new and renewal business for an assigned set of accounts or product/service line to achieve or exceed assigned revenue objectives.

Develops clear and effective written proposals or quotations for current and prospective customers

Creates and maintains account plans for existing customers, highlighting profile, share, and value opportunities

Maintains sales records, forecasts, and reports in Salesforce

Participates in trade shows and conventions, schedules training and seminars to enhance new business opportunities

Cement business relationships at all levels with target customers, building trust and confidence in our client’s ability to deliver technology and service that offers solutions, value, and service excellence.

Seeks negotiated opportunities that offer solutions to customer requirements where our client is well positioned to meet the need.

Constantly monitors customer-specific strategic & operational factors to ensure that current, reliable market intelligence is procured upon which sales opportunities can be identified and acted upon.

Continually protects and enhances our client’s reputation and perception in key accounts by applying carefully planned customer development initiatives.

Acquire and continue to develop a comprehensive understanding of our client’s range of technology and capabilities and convey to customers any new developments that promote the company’s brand for quality solutions and top-class service and performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering, mathematics or sciences; Master’s degree preferred
Professional Experience:
-
5+ years of progressive experience in key account management within the oil & gas and energy industry (Downstream / Chemicals preferably) with a proven track record of success

Strong experience in leading the sales, development, and growth of Operations improvement and simulation software for Heavy Industries, including Oil and Gas, Energy, Renewables, Mining, and Chemicals.

Knowledge of FEA, Asset integrity, structural Engineering software, Pressure Vessels and Downstream equipment

Thorough understanding of the technical sales process within US Operators and knowledge of the different players within those companies

Experience in a start-up or private equity-backed operation is a plus, as is the ability to enter new market segments and grow a business from scratch.
