We are actively interviewing candidates for a Technical Service Engineer opportunity.

The Technical Service Engineer is primarily responsible for providing application expertise across the entire spectrum of products. This position exposes the individual to many business units by working closely with service, sales (both international and domestic), research and development, and product evolution teams. Expect to travel both domestically and internationally in support of operations. The qualified individual must be team-oriented, eager to learn, and have a burning desire to bring value to the organization. Fully embracing the vision and the corporate/family culture are vital to success.

Duties include:

 

  • ​Assisting the sales organization by providing pre- and post-sale support to create technical justification of our technology.

  • Providing technical product expertise for drilling contractors, including applying the best products for each unique application.

  • Troubleshooting product performance problems and working with customers on effective solutions.

  • Managing the development of technical marketing materials to differentiate our products in the marketplace.

  • Conducting analysis on competitors’ products; working with sales managers to develop ways to improve the positioning of our products.

  • Working with research and development to help define next generation products.

  • Teaching customers, agents, and employees in the field and classroom how to correctly apply our products to improve drilling efficiency and reduce the impact to the environment.

  • Assisting with care and maintenance of our laboratory and test facility, including assisting in equipment demonstrations for tender specifications and/or customer visits.

  • Enhancing the organization’s reputation by accomplishing new and different customer requests; exploring opportunities to add value to our technology.

  • Updating job knowledge by participating in education opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Required Skills:

  • ​Proven ability to take ownership of projects, work independently to resolve issues, and see them to completion.

  • Ability to multi-task extensively.

Essential Requirements:

  • ​Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in engineering or technical field.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; comfort in presenting in front of customers   and colleagues.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related products.

  • Detail oriented, self-directed, decisive, and honest.

  • Willingness and readiness to travel extensively both domestically and internationally.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in the oil & gas drilling industry, experience with drilling fluids and/or solids control.

  • Comfort with foreign languages.
